What initially looks like a peaceful protest by the #EndSARS protesters later degenerated into a clash between the protesters and hoodlums at the Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja leading to the death of six people.

The six people were said to be burnt by the miscreants who appeared and accosted the peaceful protesters at Kabusa junction.

Also several houses, vehicles and shops in the vicinity were destroyed during the fracas.

An eyewitness said that trouble allegedly started when protesters resisted the intruders, who came with all manner of dangerous weapons, instead of retreating from the scene of the protest, the miscreants went on rampage and started burning vehicles along the road.

The aggression was said to have been extended to the popular Apo Mechanic village, where they attacked more people, burning shops and property within their reach.

The eyewitness, who resides in Apo Pigba, a nearby village, stated that the shops and vehicle owners, who felt aggrieved by the actions of the miscreants, went on a reprisal attack.

The eyewitness said police later rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
