Tyson Fury’s cousin, Rico Burton, was fatally stabbed in a fight outside a bar.

Fury went to social media and called out the government to implement higher punishments for knife crimes.

The Manchester Evening News reported the Greater Manchester Police is investigating the murder that took place in Altrincham on Sunday Morning.

“Police are appealing to the public for further information after two males were stabbed outside a bar in Altrincham,” a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson mentioned.

Police reports illustrate that a man in his 30s died during the fight, and a 17-year-old boy went to the hospital with “serious injuries.”

“Emergency services attended the scene. Two men were rushed to the hospital with serious and life-changing injuries. A 31-year-old male sadly passed away a short time later in hospital. A 17-year-old male also remains in hospital with serious injuries,” the spokesperson said.

The Manchester Evening News described the deceased man as Rico Burton, Tyson’s Fury cousin.

Tyson Fury call for action

In his social media channels, the two-time heavyweight champ Tyson Fury wanted the British government to implement harder punishments for all knife crimes.

“My cousin was murdered last night, stabbed in the neck, this is becoming ridiculous idiots carry knives,” Tyson Fury posted on Instagram.

“This needs to stop asap, UK government needs to bring higher sentencing for knife crime, it’s a pandemic & you don’t know how bad it is until it’s 1 of your own!” Fury kept writing.

“Life is very precious & it can be taken away very quick enjoy every moment. RIP RICO BURTON may the lord god grant you a good place in heaven. See you soon #onlycowardscarryweapons.”
