The president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo said on Wednesday that he had spoken to President Muhammadu Buhari following the killings of protesters and the 12-days campaign for police reform.

The West African country president who is also the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday evening while calling for ”calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARS  impasse in Nigeria.”

”I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has begun the processes that will lead to reform, ”Akufo-Addo said.

While the international community have condemned the killings of unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday night, President Buhari has not directly addressed the shooting but called on Nigerians to be patient as police reforms “gather pace”.
