The Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba said the governor has already assembled highly experienced individuals with proven integrity and expertise and ready to help in driving his administration’s vision for appointment as Commissioners and Special Advisers.

Comrade Ahemba who disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to Moneycentral on Tuesday in Lafia said in no distant time, the governor will send names of the commissioner- nominees to the state house of assembly for confirmation, also called on the people of the state to remain calm.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Governor has already assembled highly experienced individuals with proven integrity and expertise and ready to help in driving his administration’s vision for appointment as Commissioners and Special Advisers.

“We therefore call on the people of Nassrawa State to remain calm as the Governor, will in no distant time, send the list of the Commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and possible confirmation as required by law as well as appoint Special Advisers,” Ahemba stated.

The SSA debunked insinuations in some quarters that the governor was deliberately delaying to the appointment of commissioners and special advisers pending the outcome of the governorship election petition tribunal. He claimed the people were already aware of the opposition unrelenting propaganda by the people’s democratic party, especially with regards to the ongoing proceedings at the governorship election petition tribunal, describing it as unfounded.

“The insinuation in some quarters suggesting that, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State is deliberately delaying the appointment of Commissioners and Special Advisers pending the outcome of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal should be disregarded by the public as it is totally unfounded.

“The public is already aware of the unrelenting propaganda by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, especially with regards to the ongoing proceedings of the Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal where the PDP is challenging the declaration of Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule of the ruling All Progressives Congress as winner of the March 18th Governorship Election in the state. Before now, the opposition party and it’s social media agents had based their propaganda on misleading publications which they usually sponsor in some sections of the media at the end of every sitting of the Tribunal to gain public sympathy”; he said.

He however said it was glaring that the people of Nasarawa State, who believe and appreciate the development strides recorded by the Engr. Sule administration in the last four years and his sustained commitment to consolidate on these achievements have refused to be carried away by the media propaganda hence they have changed tactics.

“The new distractive strategy is on appointment of Commissioners and Special Advisers which is strictly within the purview of the Governor to decide when, who and where to appoint members of the State Executive Council. Why taking Panadol for someone’s headache?”; Ahemba asked.

He noted that the matter instituted at the Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal against the Governor was not in any way a hindrance to appointments by the State Government, adding that the electorates of Nassrawa State have freely given their mandate to Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule by voting massively in the recent Governorship election, as such, hence he will, by the grace of God, remain in charge of affairs for the next four years.
