Northern group under the augies of the Arewa Solidarity Group (ASG), has described the statement attributed to the Kwara state PDP gubernatorial candidate on Gov. AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman is ignorant of the current situation of things in Kwara state.
The group explained what anyone who is not ignorant of the good work of the Governor would not had described the 3 years of Governor AbdulRasaq as a waste.
This contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Isa Ahmed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
In the statement, the group further explained that before the emergence of the Governor in 2015, the local Government Staff and SUBEB had owned 14 months salary, while the state’s staff were owed 4 months salaries.
The group noted that: “For the fact that Gov. AbdulRasaq is not owning anyone today is a riddle that needed to be broken. If the salary of N2.2bn jumped to N3.1bn as it should be and the Governor is paying it successfully. One needs to ask him where he now gets the extra N1bn to pay regularly when the past government couldn’t even pay N2.2bn regularly from the same allocation.
“And the fact that Gov. AbdulRasaq is still patching roads, building hospitals, and reconstructing roads of reasonable distances after meeting this responsibility is another riddle entirely.
“If anyone should be blamed for wasting Kwara’s money; it will be those that presented Alh. Yaman for governorship now because they are the ones who need to explain to Kwarans why the same allocation Gov. AbdulRasaq is using to pay N30,000 minimum wage when they could not pay just N18,000 as minimum wage during their administration.”
The group therefore urged Kwarans not to allow themselves to be deceived by failed politicians in the state who do not mean well for the state.
