Eid el-Maulud: Gov Yahaya Urges Muslims To Emulate Prophet Muhammad’s Noble Character

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has urged Muslim faithful to emulate the exemplary life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as they join the global Ummah to celebrate the 2026 Eid el-Maulud.

Yahaya and the call in his Eid el-Maullid message to residents of the state, signed by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Government House, Mr Ismaila Misilli in Gombe on Tuesday.

He called on Muslims to draw inspiration from the Prophet’s noble character, highlighting key virtues to emulate, including peaceful coexistence, compassion, humility, tolerance, modesty, generosity, selflessness, and exemplary leadership.

The governor stressed that the true significance of Maulud extends beyond festive celebrations to a renewed, everyday commitment to living according to the character and teachings of the Prophet.

“As we commemorate this great day, let us continue to emulate the noble Messenger of Allah in our actions, interactions, and relationships for the betterment of our society,” he said.

He also urged Muslims to use the spiritual occasion to offer prayers for sustained peace, unity, stability, and prosperity in Gombe state and Nigeria.

Highlighting the power of joint supplication, Yahaya noted that collective prayers, mutual understanding and harmonious living remain essential pillars for sustainable national development.

“The celebration of Maulud should strengthen our faith and unite us as a people, bringing us together to pray for unity, peace, progress, and stability in our beloved state and nation,” he added.

The governor further called on both leaders and citizens to remain steadfast in their civic responsibilities while actively contributing to building a peaceful and prosperous society.

He assured residents of his administration’s unwavering commitment to implementing transformative socio-economic policies designed to improve the overall wellbeing of the citizens.

Yahaya appealed directly to youths and celebrants to conduct all festivities peacefully, responsibly, and with strict adherence to established protocols governing public gatherings.

Reiterating the need for mutual respect among diverse communities, he reminded citizens of their shared duty to guard the peace and tranquillity enjoyed in the state by avoiding divisive acts or utterances.
