President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to embrace the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President called on Muslims to use the celebration as an opportunity for introspection, prayer and reflection on the life of the Prophet.

Tinubu urged the faithful to uphold values of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness, describing them as important lessons from the Prophet’s life.

He also called on Islamic leaders to use the occasion to pray for the country and encourage their followers to translate the teachings of Prophet Muhammad into greater commitment to Nigeria.

The President urged Muslims celebrating the festival to extend a hand of fellowship to the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the season.

He further appealed for prayers against insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country.
