Nasarawa State Gov. Distributes Relief Materials to 8 IDP Camps

The Nasarawa state government has distributed relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons IDPs, in the 8 camps across Obi, Keana, Doma and Awe local government area of the state.

Delivering the materials to the president Tiv Development Association TIDA, Comrade. Peter Ahemba, in Lafia, the state capital, for onward distribution to the camp’s administrators, the Executive Director, Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency NASEMA, Bar. Zakari Zamani Alumaga, tasked the leader to make sure the materials reached the appropriate quarters.

Alumaga, availed that even as the items cannot go round the displaced persons, he is still waiting for more consignment to be distributed to the affected persons before the year runs out.

He explained that the items were donated to the Nasarawa state government by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, through the Deputy Gov. Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.

Items distributed according to Alumaga were sewing machines, grinding machines, welding machines and hair cutters. Others were vulcanizing machines, generators, and water surface pumping machines. He also informed that each camp would have each of the Items mentioned.

Appreciating the gesture, the state TIDA, President, Comr. Peter Ahemba, who thanked the Nasarawa state government for assisting the displaced persons, said the materials would change the livelihood of the IDPs.

Ahemba therefore appealed to the state government to redouble its efforts in making sure the remaining IDPs, completely returned to their ancestral homes.
