Dr. Nyitse Extols Akume’s Visionary Leadership at 70

A lecturer in department of Educational Foundations at the federal university Kashere, Gombe state, Dr. Mark Nyitse has extolled the visionary leadership qualities of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume, on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary celebration.

Our Correspondent gathered that Akume, a thorough-bred politician, was born on December 27, 1953, and hails from Wannune Tarka Council Area of Benue State.

Speaking to journalists on Monday in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital, Dr Nyitse lauded the giant strides of the SGF while he held sway as the Governor of Benue State, a Senator and as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

While noting the immense contributions of Akume to the development of Benue State, the university Don who is a resident of Lafia, Nasarawa said the residents of Benue state and Nigerians in general will continue to remain grateful to him for his kindness to humanity.

The former deputy chairman of Takar local government area of Benue state where Akume hails from noted with pleasant memories how the former governor had provided jobs and empowered many residents of Benue State in order to make them self-sufficient.

While explaining that the 70th birthday anniversary was very remarkable in the life of the SGF and in the lives of those he had greatly impacted through his visionary leadership, the Benue born educationist urged Akume to continue to live a highly productive, eventful and colorful life for the good of himself, family and the nation.

“Sir, your track records of selfless service to humanity, State and country are worthy of emulation. Your exemplary lifestyle, good governance initiatives, strategic skills in partisan politics and your inestimable large heart for all Nigerians, has singled you out as a consummate leader par excellence.

“Your consistent peace building efforts and strong desire to keep Nigeria one and united is glaring for all to see.

“Sir, I want to urge you to continue in your good works, and you should be rest assured that all the good-spirited Benue State indigenes and Nigerians are praying for you.

“On the occasion of your 70th birthday anniversary celebration, my family and I respectfully congratulate you and pray that God Almighty continues to grant you excellent health, greater wisdom and sufficient resources to enable you to deliver more dividends of democracy to your constituents and other citizens of the country,” he added.
